Runners, get ready for LederhosenLauf!

The second annual LederhosenLauf will take place on the River Parks trail course on the west and east sides of the Arkansas River. Water will be provided on the course. The start and finish of this race will be on the west bank of the Arkansas River at the Oktoberfest celebration.

The start line will be located near the south entrance of Oktoberfest, and the finish will be at the north end of Oktoberfest.

Parking will be available near the skate park just south of 23rd Street on the west side of the Arkansas River.

Registration starts at 5 p.m.
4-mile run (timed) begins at 6 p.m.
1k fun run (untimed) begins at 6:15 p.m.

Costs:
4-mile run: $27.50
4-mile run; kids 12 and under including race shirt: $17
4-mile run; kids 12 and under with NO shirt: $7

1k run: $17.50
1k run; kids 12 and under including race shirt: $17
1k run; kids 12 and under with NO shirt: $7

Tulsa Oktoberfest Gears Up for 2012

As of yesterday, Corporate Night tables for the 2012 Tulsa Oktoberfest are now available for purchase by the public. This is generally the point when everyone involved with Oktoberfest pauses, takes a deep breath, and gets ready for THREE MONTHS of insanity! We’ll have updates and information coming fast and furious over the next two months, including:

New parking and shuttle arrangements
We heard you loud and clear last year. For 2012, we will be utilizing and promoting a closer shuttle system that leaves from downtown Tulsa and several other locations. This means that after Oktoberfest-goers enjoy the festival, they can take a 5 minute shuttle to downtown and either leave on the multiple expressway entrances, or conclude their night with a stop at their favorite restaurant/pub.
Improved “bad weather” response
We’re in Oklahoma, the home of wild weather. Every year seems to bring a storm or two our way. This year, we’re working with several experts to find the best courses of action to recommend to Oktoberfest guests if a bad storm is headed our way.
Festival money
Some exciting news will be coming soon about how festival money is going to be handled. This should result in shorter beer lines.

We’ve been working with the artist over the last several months. It’s almost finished, and the unveiling will be coming soon.
Improved signage and information
You’ll have a much better idea of what to do at Oktoberfest, due to the new signage and informational booklets that will be onsite!
Our new Oktoberfest logo
You’ve probably seen the new Tulsa Oktoberfest logo. The new brand reflect the Tulsa Oktoberfest heritage of tall tents, a fun carnival-like atmosphere, and underlying German traditions.
Wunderbar Pass
The awesome Wunderbar Pass will be returning, with an improved beer mug.
